Wish to share with you, like a 2007 & 2008 COIP donor only, CRA lately sent me a letter that my 2007 donation is disallowed, sent me a re-assessment that I owe 14K in taxes for 2007. I then filed my 2009 taxes, exactly where I was supposed to obtain a refund, CRA kept it, and applied it towards the 2007 quantity they say I owe.
My buddy, in almost exactly the same position, except that he produced a 2009 COIP donation, received back his 2009 refund of more than 10K!!! Go figure, although he was re-assesed for 2007 and informed that he has cash owing to CRA for 2007, he nonetheless received a refund!
Where will be the consistency within the processes and guidelines of CRA?
